Enter a survey that requires passwords
Q. How does a respondent enter a survey that requires passwords?
A. There are two ways a person can enter a survey that requires passwords.
If you use Password-based security,
a text box appears on the Introduction Page (the first page of the
survey). In this text box, the respondent enters a password that you
have supplied to them. You need to provide some sort of instructions
for them to enter their password in the "Introduction" page
(something like "please enter your password in the box below").
For
example:
If the survey URL is
http://www.surveywriter.com/survey/survey78/theSurvey.asp and the
password is the word "lion," then the entire URL with the
password is:
http://www.surveywriter.com/survey/survey78/theSurvey.asp?pw=lion
The password is captured in the
data file after the respondent enters it into the password text box.
To use passwords you will need to create a pool of passwords and enter them in the Password list field on the Security Options screen. This field
is displayed after you check the box labeled Use Password Based Security.
