Back Button Branching

Q. When using the Back button to go back to a Branching Question, the survey takes me all the way back to the question immediately before where the branches start. Why is that?

A. SurveyWriter keeps a list of all of the questions. When you move back through a survey, the previous question's ID is selected from the list and then used to display the question. With Branching Questions, there is no previous question. Branching Questions are virtual questions and are created on-the-fly. No physical question actually exists, and therefore SurveyWriter cannot go back to display it. If you need to have you respondents go back to a Branch Question, you will need to set up your Branching using Pre or Post Question Filters.
