Data validations not working

Q. I merged several questions on the same page. I also used the Data Validation function on one of the questions. Why aren't the data validations for the remaining questions on the page working?

A. The reason the data validations were not working except for Q9 is because when you use the Data Validation function on a question the program disregards all other built-in validations for all the other questions on the page. In other words, if you need to use the Data Validation function for Q9, then you need to use it for all of the other questions, because all of the other questions are on the same page.

SurveyWriter has most data validation tools built into the Modify Question options. Using the Data Validation function is only necessary in a few instances. Because you selected Q9 as a Ranking Text Box Grid, the functions to ensure that the respondent is answering correctly are built in. The only thing you need to add is to specify is the range of acceptable numbers.
